Operating a convenience store in the most energy-efficient manner possible can help retailers save money and reinvest those savings back into the business. 

Whether retailers are already taking steps to achieve energy-saving sustainability goals or just getting started, industry-specific benchmarks can help the industry plan and adjust energy consumption. To that end, NACS is seeking retailer assistance to develop the first-ever Energy Star Score for Convenience Stores.

With the score, retailers can benchmark their buildings against industry energy consumption and may qualify for an Energy Star certification, which recognizes energy-efficient top performers or saving money—without sacrificing performance—and communicates to customers which retailers are conscious of their energy use and environmental impact.
