When people celebrate their birthdays, it’s usually (understandably) all about them, and American rapper Travis Scott’s 28th birthday was no exception. Scott’s celebrity girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, threw her boyfriend a Travis-Scott-gas-station-themed party, where attendees entered the event via a huge blowup of the rapper’s face. Scott-branded merchandise, such as spray cleaner, motor oil, laundry detergent and paper towels, lined the shelves of a fake convenience store, all labeled “Cactus Jack,” the rapper’s nickname. Of course, no gas-station-themed celebration would be complete without a working slushie machine, which churned out Hennessey-flavored frozen drinks.
Crime Cover Up
Police in Australia are searching for a man who robbed a convenience store while attempting to stay incognito by wearing a reusable shopping bag on his head. Footage shows him donning the eco-friendly headgear while demanding cash and cigarettes from a c-store attendant, but it’s clear the robber did not think his plan through. After the clerk gives the man several packs of cigarettes, the thief promptly removes his “disguise” and uses the bag to carry the cigarettes out of the store, exposing his entire face to the camera.
Fun at Work
Where do you see yourself when you’re 91 years old? One Bradenton, Florida, man never imagined that he’d be working as a gas station attendant, but he does so happily–having fun and laughing throughout each of his shifts. At first, Sal Laurie was only going to work for 30 days as a temp, and then 30 days turned into 31 years. The job isn’t always easy for Laurie, especially during the first couple hours, but after “circulation kicks in,” he’s walking around, chatting with customers. Laurie says his secret to life is to have fun, even at work, and it’s never too late to get out and do something you love, he advises.
